Up Coming Event and This Sunday
| Sunday Morning |
Sunday
is a very special day - Transfiguration Sunday. The sermon
from the series "Who Does Jesus Say That He Is", will be, "The
Gate." The Bible reading will be from John 10:1- 10. Jesus
says, "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be
saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." He also
says, "I am come, that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly."
Anyone reading this who has not been able to come to church
recently, we don't want you to miss out on this one. The
series on Jesus is so powerful, so personal, so loving, and
has such clarity - it goes straight to your heart and soul.
Please come be blessed.
There are so many wonderful things happening Sunday, the
Stephen Ministry Leaders will be commissioned during worship.
Also, there will be a reception to welcome our new Music
Director, Edward Gibson. We will have refreshments in the
Narthex after the 10:45 service. Everyone is invited to come
meet Edward and welcome him to FUMC. Edward started work Feb.
12th, had his first practice with the choir Wed., and sang for
the UMW gathering Thursday. We so look forward to seeing him
with the choir Sunday. Edward has a very kind and joyful
personality, so don't be afraid to introduce yourself, he
would love to meet you! |
| Ash Wednesday |
This
Wednesday, Feb. 21st is Ash Wednesday. We will have our Ash
Wednesday Service at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. It will be a
special time of preparation for the Holy Season. This is also
the day we will begin using our Lenten Calendars that were
mailed/e-mailed. Rev. Galloway will have special instructions
to share with us to help us focus on prayer.
The Wonderful Wed. meal will be served that night from
5:30-6:30 pm. Classes that usually meet earlier on Wed. will
still meet. Classes that would normally meet during the time
around 6:30-8 pm will not meet that night in order to allow
everyone to participate in the Ash Wed. service. If you have
questions about your specific group. please contact the church
office or your group leader.
Everyone is invited to come prepare as a church family for
this Holy time of year as we remember what God gave us through
His Son, Jesus. |
