Adult Sunday School Classes

9:45 a.m. Classes

**New**Young Adult Sunday School Class: This new class will begin September 10th and will meet in Room 223. The class will be offered at two time slots, 9:45 a.m. & 10:45 a.m. If you are a young adult who does not have a Sunday School class yet, please consider this opportunity which is for both single and married young couples.

Asbury Class
Ages: 30- 50 yrs.
Rm 221 (Main Building)

The Asbury Class includes singles and married couples with and without young children. They are active supporters of church activities and other community events. Class members take turns in leading lessons that are from prepared Bible study lessons and other materials. Some of the mission and outreach projects include: Waxahachie C.A.R.E., co- sponsoring of WHS Boys Basketball Banquet, Kids Night Out, Bible Zone, Youth and Pre-school class teaching. The Asbury Class enjoys regularly planned fellowship gatherings at members' homes, children's activities and ladies birthday luncheons & Guys' Night Out.

Builders Class
Ages: 40- 65 yrs.
Gathering Room, Family Life Center)

Approximately 10 different teachers lead this class for singles and married. The Builders Class is a group of individuals who have similar goals in Christ and in helping our church and community be a better place to live, work, and learn. The class generously extends a helping hand to all whether in service or by monetary outreach. Some of the mission/ outreach opportunities include the WHS Boys Basketball Banquet, donations to various outside church programs, youth mission, and "penny fund" toward the organ fund. The Builders Class gathers each month on the first Thursday for Family Night and each December for a delightful Christmas party.

Covenant Class
Ages: 35- 75 yrs.
Rm. 122 (Main Building)

The Covenant Class is a diverse group of people of various backgrounds and they enjoy having a great time together. The class begins gathering each week at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and delicious munchies. Following a time of good singing to get the spirit moving the class shares in a time of Bible study. Each month they support Salvation Army Meals on Wheels and contribute to a Funday School scholarship. The class also gives to the Methodist Children's Home each year. The Covenant Class's big fundraiser for the year is Pancake/ Chili Day. There are three or four parties planned each year for additional fellowship time.

Fidelis Class
Ages: "Mature in age, but young in spirit!"

Every Sunday is a celebration of God's many blessings and singing - from the old Cokesbury hymnals (songs you may remember from your childhood). The Fidelis Class uses the Cokesbury Adult Bible Series led by a team of excellent teachers from a wide background. The teacher rotation includes class members, retired clergy, and guests. Class business is conducted by an informal presidential leadership with membership input. The class prides themselves in having many gifted musicians and great cooks. Each year a project committee is appointed to explore ways that the class can be involved in the various ministries of the church, including preparation of meals for bereaved families, visitation, and the intercessory prayer outreach. The Fidelis Class gather every fourth Thursday of the month for a covered dish supper. Other yearly gatherings are the July 4th Celebration at noon and a Festive Christmas Banquet, which includes a special salute for outgoing class officers.

Logos Class
Ages: all adults
Rm: Church Library (Main Building)

The Logos class is the newest adult Sunday School Class. This class is being formed for persons interested in doing in-depth Bible Study each Sunday morning. The class is currently studying Philippians, which will be followed by a study of Colossians.

Wesley Class
Ages: 50+ yrs.
Rm. 111A (Main Building)

The Wesley Class is a close- knit class that enjoys Christian fellowship. Lessons each week are Bible- oriented video studies and discussion. This class enjoys lots of social activities, such as day trips, weekend trips and monthly pot- lucks. They are also quite active with mission and outreach projects, including Waxahachie C.A.R.E., Daniel's Den, HOPE Clinic, McCurdy School, Waco Children's Home, Scholarships for Funday School, mission trips, church property landscaping, and the Women's Resource Center.

ABC (Adult Bible Class)
Ages: 30s- 50s
Gathering Rm. (Family Life Ctr.)

The ABC's treasure having a loving, warm, and welcoming atmosphere that challenges its members to be involved in all aspects of the church and community. The weekly lessons are scripture- based life application studies. Mission/ Outreach projects include: Waxahachie C.A.R.E., Common Ground Ministries, Toys for Tots, Bible Zone, Glen Lake, and Youth mission trips. Outside of class, the ABC's have quarterly social gatherings.

Gathering Class
Ages: 25- 55
Rm. 215 (Main Building)

In September 1998 a group of fellow believers began a special class where people could celebrate the grace of God through songs of praise, scripture, and real stories about how God is active in the lives of people. All are welcome in the Gathering class, entire families or singles. The class sponsors diaper drives for Women's Resource Center, serves on teams for the Walk to Emmaus Weekends, and teachers in Bible Zone. Several times a year they attend Dallas plays. Other class activities are the annual Christmas party and a summer picnic.
