We
are pleased that you have given First
United Methodist Church an opportunity
to share its ministries with you through
the event of your wedding. Our
goal is to provide both the personnel
and the setting that will uphold the
sacredness of a Christian Wedding
Service. A wedding acknowledges the
couple's commitment to God and invites
family and friends to witness their new
covenant. The wedding is a time of
dedication and commitment, one in which
the couple seeks the blessing of God and
the establishment of a Christian home.
We take this responsibility very seriously. Marriage is a sacred bond given to us by our Lord. Each wedding at First United Methodist Church is a celebration of God's love and the joy of the couple God has united. The Christian Wedding Service is a worship service and must be planned with the Senior Pastor.
Church Availability
All church weddings must be booked by contacting the church office. No wedding is placed on the church calendar until a consultation with the Senior Pastor has been held. A wedding policy for the church can be obtained by contacting the church office.
In scheduling weddings, we try very hard to accommodate our members and their families first and foremost. Non-member weddings are scheduled according to availability. The majority of weddings are scheduled for Saturday's with rehearsals held on Friday evening.
Weddings will not be scheduled for the following days and church seasons:
- Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
- Thanksgiving Weekend
- The season of Lent (six weeks prior to Easter)
- Easter Sunday
-
The season of Advent (four weeks
prior to Christmas)
All questions concerning weddings should be directed to the church office. |
